Hong Kong Hotel Deals Updated Weekly

By , About.com Guide

Hong Kong has a ferocious hotel market. Rates can be extravagant and are likley to put a real dent into your budget. Thankfully, the sheer number of hotels means there is raging competition between properties to get you to check-in; this includes generous discounts and promotions. Each week we put together the best Hong Kong hotel deals available, featuring hotels from five-star to bed and breakfast.

If there is nothing below that grabs your attention, check out out top five tips on how to get a Hong Kong hotel deal for details on how to secure the best price.

1. Dorsett Regency Hotel

The Kennedy Town location of the Dorsett Regency keeps prices at this business orientated hotel honest – very honest - think four star service at three star prices. Just fifteen minutes from Central by public transport – outside of rush hour – the sleepy suburban neighborhood shouldn’t be an issue for all but the laziest urban gorilla. The hotel’s boutique size brings detail to the contemporary stylish design and bonus extras, such as iPod docks, iPad rental and free wifi throughout. You’ll also find a very respectable restaurant in Cellini and a poolside lounge. Despite the already reasonable rates, the Dorsett is offering a blockbuster 35% off stays of three nights or more and a free breakfast.

2. Hong Kong Gold Coast Hotel

Set on the South China Seafront in the New Territories, the Hong Kong Gold Coast Hotel is one of Hong Kong’s only bonafide resort properties. Ignore the pink, Moscow office block exterior, to discover palatial rooms with endless amenities and extras, marble bathrooms and balconies with sea views. On site you’ll also find an ocean sized swimming pool, kids club and several high end restaurants. Thirty mins from downtown Hong Kong, those who want to be central should book elsewhere, but if you're on your second or third visit to Hong Kong, this peaceful retreat could be ideal. They are offering 25% off all stays when booked 21 days in advance.

3. The Nathan Hotel

The Nathan Hotel’s recent top to tail renovation has established the property as one of the better priced four star stays in the city. Rooms are well appointed with a sleek but subtle, contemporary design and there is a well equipped gym on site. The location in the Jordan neighborhood is superb for those who fancy a taste of real life Hong Kong, including many bustling markets and Cantonese cuisine restaurants, and is only two MTR stops from the tourist hub of Tsim Sha Tsui. Guests staying three nights here will get 10% off or book 21 days in advance for 10% off for all stays.

4. Park Lane Hotel

A little more modest when measured against Hong Kong’s other five stars, the Park Lane trims down on the bells and whistles offered at its competitors and instead boasts straightforward luxury at a more affordable price. While the recently renovated rooms may not have fresh strawberries plucked from the foothills of a Welsh mountainside, they do have flat screen TVs, internet access and marble bathrooms. The real pull, however, is the setting. For dedicated shoppers in Hong Kong to fill up their wardrobes and empty their wallets, the Park Lane’s location in the heart of Causeway Bay puts them at the front of the shopping queue. The Park Lane’s current offer bundles up a bunch of promotions for well-planned out travellers who book 30 days in advance, including a 15% discount on your stay, free in room internet and late check out until 16:00.

5. Ramada Hong Kong Hotel

One of the first things you’ll learn about Hong Kong hotels is that if you want a view of that famous harbour, you’re going to have to stump up for the privilege. Just about every hotel in the city splits its rooms and rates into harbour view and, well, concrete wall view. The difference in price can be staggering. For those desperate to have the harbour on show when they peel back the curtains, the Ramada is offering to upgrade bookings in any standard double to a suite with a harbour view. The hotel itself is an uninspiring four star that offers very attractive mid range prices thanks to its location just off the beaten track in Kennedy Town (fifteen minutes by regular public transport to Central).

6. The Luxe Manor

The most stylish of Hong Kong’s wave of perfectly preened boutique hotels; the Luxe Manor's Alice in Wonderland interior features rooms individually styled by some of the world’s most talented designers. Complementing the sharp aesthetic design are all the amenities you’d demand from one of the big chain hotels, such as cinema sized flat screens and in room wifi. Traditionally the Luxe has been scrooge like with its deals, so its current fire sale promotion is particularly attractive. Book now and you’ll get a free round trip on their airport shuttle, a holiday snap in the hotel which they’ll frame for free and, perhaps best of all, 6 free dips into the minibar.
