Hong Kong Time Zone - What is Hong Kong's Time Zone

By Rory Boland, About.com

Question: Hong Kong Time Zone - What is Hong Kong's Time Zone
Answer:

The Hong Kong Time Zone has no specific name such as East Coast Time (EST) or Central European Time (CET). It has been suggested the Hong Kong Time Zone become known as ASEAN Standard Time, after the agency of the same name. Hong Kong tends to abbreviate to Hong Kong Time (HKT) or Chinese Standard Time (CST), as the city shares the same time zone with Beijing.

Hong Kong Time is Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) +8 or Universal Standard Time (UST) +8. Hong Kong has no daylight saving hours.
