Hong Kong Famed and Famous Tour

About.com Rating four out of Five

The Bottom Line

A good tour to see the old and the new of Hong Kong. The visit to The Peak, as well as the helicopter ride, will provide matchless views over the city. While a visit to the fishing village and temple, will reveal a more traditional side of the city. The one downside is the Jumbo restaurant, where the food is not the attraction.
Pros
  • Breathtaking helicopter tour of Hong Kong Island
  • Informative guided tour of a traditional temple
  • Fully packed day, that takes-in the old and new of the city
Cons
  • Jumbo Kingdom restaurant offers poor food
  • Expensive, due to helicopter tour

Guide Review - Hong Kong Famed and Famous Tour

The Famed and Famous tour is a cultural tour de force, delivering the essentials of Hong Kong’s culture, old and new, in just under seven hours. Beginning at Hong Kong’s most famed location, The Peak, you’ll ascend the famous hill-top via the picturesque Peak Tram, which is an experience in itself. Then it’s off to Aberdeen to see Hong Kong’s traditional fishermen at work, followed by the floating restaurant , Jumbo Kingdom, Hong Kong’s most famous restaurant. Unfortunately, the Jumbo is famous for it’s location, not it’s food. The restaurant has rightly endured a storm of criticism over the poor quality of the food, and rumor is a change in the kitchen is planned.

After lunch you’ll have chance to see the world’s most famous cityscape in a fifteen minute helicopter ride. And to end the day, you’ll be brought back down top earth with a visit to one of Hong Kong’s traditional temples.
