Hong Kong Concert Tickets
Where and How to Buy Hong Kong Concert Tickets

By Rory Boland, About.com

Hong Kong Concert Tickets are, depending on the band or the show, fairly easy to get your hands on. Below, we’ve got all the information and inside information on how and where to buy Hong Kong concert tickets.

What Sort of Bands Come to Hong Kong?

Hong Kong attracts a very decent selection of international acts, and if a major band is coming to Asia, a stop in Hong Kong is usually on the cards. Expect the majority of the acts to be pop and rock orientated, with major acts in recent years including Norah Jones, Coldplay and Oasis. There are usually at least two major acts in town each month.

Where Can I Buy Tickets?

There are two main providers of tickets; Urbtix and Hong Kong Ticketing, who, between them, will have tickets to every major event in Hong Kong. You can book with both companies through their websites, or on the phone, and tickets can be collected at their booths at various points around the city. You’ll need your passport number and a credit card to reserve tickets. Depending on the band, tickets can sell out quickly, and you certainly shouldn’t expect to buy tickets in the days leading up to the event.

How Much Should I Expect to Pay

For major international acts, expect to pay from HK$400 to upwards of HK$700 for tickets. Locals acts generally charge HK$50 or less, aside from the big name Cantopop stars.

Where Can I Find Listings Information?

There are a couple of decent sources of listings information; Hong Kong magazine, available on Thursdays free at restaurants and bars in Lan Kwai Fong, has comprehensive listings information, as does the bi weekly Hong Kong Time Out.
