Chinese New Year always falls in January and February but is always on a different date each year. Officially Chinese New Year kicks off on Chinese New Year’s eve, which is when the biggest firework displays are held, with the parades on the following day. The whole holiday can last up to a month, although the main celebration is just in the first week, when many shops will be shut.
