Going on safari in Hong Kong

It's unlikely that Hong Kong strikes you as the kind of place to go on safari - this is the land of skyscrapers not the Serengeti - but Hong Kong does have a green side. In fact the vast majority of this region is covered by lush vegetation and golden sandy beaches.

In this wild outback you will find a small zoo of animals. The star of the show is the Pink Dolphin. These blushing mammal splash around the waters off the coast of Lantau Island and you take a boat trip out to see them. Also popular are Hong Kong's growing colonies of monkeys who call the parks in southern Kowloon home. Years of feeding by visitors - now illegal - means the monkeys are incredibly tame and will walk right up to you.
