Typhoon Nuri Is In Town
Baton down the hatches, Typhoon Nuri is heading straight for Hong Kong. Schools, businesses and most public transport have already closed down, while Hong Kong airport has cancelled more than 150 flights as winds hit near 100kph.
The city is currently in danger of receiving its first direct hit since Typhoon York swept through the city in 1999. The Hong Kong Observatory is likely to issue a Tropical Storm warning Number Ten this evening. The storm was already within 20km of Hong Kong at 15:00 HKT.
