Biggest Casino in the World

Tuesday August 28, 2007

Waited for with baited breath for months, Macau’s gargantuan new Casino, The Venetian, opens today.

Modeled on the Venetian in Las Vegas, the Macau version is designed to be bigger and better. In fact, the casino is the biggest in the world, and apparently the world’s second largest building, which contains; 3000 hotel rooms, a 15,000 seater-stadium, theater, 870 gaming tables and 3400 slot machines. That’s to say nothing of the hundreds of shops and restaurants designed to keep gamblers entertained.

Boasting a full-size replica of Venice’s Bridge of Sighs, as well as a not insubstantial version of St Marks Square, visitors can enjoy gondola rides around the giant casino, taking in Italian frescos and replica masterpieces.

Macau’s Casinos are only getting bigger and bigger, but it will take something special to outdo the Venetian.
