Your Favourite Hong Kong Tailor

Monday August 27, 2007

Hong Kong Tailors are famed for suiting and booting some of the world's biggest stars, as well as an army of businessmen from Minnesota to Manilla. Low-cost and high-quality, Hong Kong has long been a world-leader in producing bespoke suits at half the price of their London and New York counterparts. In fact, Hong Kong tailors have now started setting up shops in those very cities.

We've put together a list of four of Hong Kong's best tailors, from the infamous Sam's, favored by the Clinton's and Pavorotti, to Jim's Tailor Workshop, the local favorite. Leave a comment and let us know if you agree with our Best Hong Kong Tailors list, if you've had a good or bad experience with any of them, or if you have another Hong Kong tailor you think is worth recommending.

To the author Rory Boland, you could not be further from the truth. Sam (and not to mention his team) is one of the most down-to-earth people you could ever meet.

Punjab House is not the cheapest, but it is exceptional quality. The suits will last for years to come. Its so good that I often take a detour to Hong Kong during my travel to have a few suits made.
Make sure you have a good idea of what you want before you go though, there are so many options and fabrics that you’ll completely lose track if don’t have a fair idea before you go in.
