Hong Kong Typhoon

Friday August 10, 2007

Hong Kong is still in the midst of the Typhoon season, and has just narrowly missed a direct hit.

Typhoon Pabuk, now tropical depression Pabuk side swiped the territory Friday and is continuing to have an affect on the weather in the system.

Typhoon signal number 8 was hoisted lunchtime friday, meaning an early end to work, but has again been reduced to typhoon signal 3.

Heavy rain and winds are still affecting the city and you should consult your airline before flying to or from the city and take neccesary precautions.

Our article Hong Kong's Typhoons has more information on the typhoon clasification system as well as precautions. While the Hong Kong Observatory can help you track the location and intensity of the storm.
