The International Races

Monday December 4, 2006

Whether you're a seasoned race fan, or have always wondered what the sport is about, the Hong Kong international races are unmissable. The event has become one of the biggest race meets in the world, with international stars and local talent competing for huge prize money. The race-course itself has a fantastic atmosphere, with a mixture of socialites and nervous punters willing the horses along. Millions of people will be tuned in on TV from around the world, and if you're in Hong Kong, it would be foolish to miss it. The race takes place on December 10 at Sha Tin racecourse, with ceremonies getting underway at 11:15am. Tourist entrance badges cost HK$150 or roughly $20; to buy in advance, which is advised, check out the Hong Kong Jockey Club's website or call their hotline in Hong Kong on 1817.
