Santa Moves In

Monday November 20, 2006

You may feel it's to early for a Christmas post, I certainly do, however Hong Kong's Christmas festivities will be officially underway from November 24. The highlight of the festive season in Hong Kong is Santa's Town. Organised by the Hong Kong Tourism Board as part of their Winterfest celebrations, Statue Square will be transformed into a winter wonderland. Santa himself has been coaxed into making an appearance and will be holding court daily at his home-away-from-home. At the Snowy Chapel , choirs and other performers will entertain crowds on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Santa's Post Office offers a unique twist on the phrase ' be careful what you wish for', as your message is displayed on a huge LED screen above Santa Town. Crowning all this is a 35 foot Christmas tree. Find out more at the Tourism Board Website.

Santa's Town runs from November 24 until January 1 at Statue Square in Central.
